Concept: Ever since Galileo Galilei aimed the telescope at the universe, human beings has started the insatiable quest for the galactic questions. Nowadays the mysteries are being explained because of the electromagnetic wave from submillimeter waveband. It was decided that a Dome of Radio Telescope called ‘Nanten’ with 4 meters caliber would be built at the Atacama Highland that is 5,000 meters above sea level. Atacama is located by the Bolivia-Argentina border. This is the place where is under a severe weather condition because this is the desert, where the maximum peak wind blows at 50 meters per second. Also there is a fifty degree difference between day and night. Therefore, the Dome, which is for protecting the Radio Telescope, was created in Japan. It was carried by both a sea route and a land route and then it was set up in Atacama.

Around Construction Field Style: In order to follow the earth rotation to observe, the 360-degree rotatory Dome was created. There is a outer shell at the top of Dome that opens and closes from both right side and left side to respond to the sudden climate change. We used the corrugated steel plate for outer shell to attain lighter bodies. In order to reduce high wind resistance, we produced the cylinder-shaped exterior appearance.
