Finished Work

Concept:
This is a studio for the structural designer, who requires to express the strength of steel and tenderness. The building, which is composed with steel surfaces, was built as a shelter with the aim of maintenance-free for 100 years.

Style:
Weatherproof alloy steel panels are used for a wall, floors and a roof. For the purpose of increase stiffness, the steel panels pinched both sides of folded panels. This is a sandwich style frameless construction.

Features:
The wall and a roof are shown as a smooth two-dimensional curve. With a view to show a massive seamless surface, all welded places are ground with the grinder to the effect that the surface accuracy improves to the point where it reaches the predetermined level. .

Backside of the Building

The surface of the building by the foot pavement became blackish blown because we formed stable rust on the Corten Steel. Other sides form stable rust by itself, which is peculiar to Corten Steel.
