Facade

Concept:
Lanvin, a French brand, was founded by Jeanne Lanvin. The business was inspired by the clothes which was made by Jeanne for her daughter in the 1900s. The Facade with acrylic resins tinkle in the city, which expresses the warmth of affection and benevolentness.

Style:
The Facade is composed of a steel panel and acrylic resins in order to create a Honeycomb structure and let in light. Therefore, in the daytime, sun shine through the acrylic resin in the shop. While at night, the interior light is sent out toward the city.

Interference Fit

Features:
We used the ‘Cooling Fit’ method in order to combine acrylic and steel together. We used the difference of the rate of thermal expansion between acrylic and steel. Water tightness around acrylic resins is maintained by a cylinder pressure that arises from thermal expansion.
