'A Shark Monument', 'A Bonito Monument' and 'A Swordfish Monument'

Location: Hurumachi, Kesennuma, Miyagi

Finished Work

Concept:
In order to promote Kesennuma city as fish and shark city to tourists, shark monuments have been placed in front of the Kesennuma Station as Lion’s Club’s 40th anniversary celebration. Afterwards, 'a Bonito Monument' and 'a Swordfish Monument' were added as a token of celebrating the 45th anniversary
.

Style:
The monuments are created as integral constructions. Each metal plate, which was created individually, is connected to each other in order to make the monument look three-dimensional.

Features:
The whole image change if looked at from different angles. We devised a big shark tail fin. When the wind blows, it moves from side to side. All monuments are the same size as a real fish.
